44grind announces the coming together of Nigerian artists Kholi Kabelo and GREGAN, marking the beginning of a new creative relationship built around music, collaboration, artist development and a shared ambition to reach audiences across Africa and beyond.

The partnership reflects 44grind’s wider vision of building an ecosystem where independent artists receive more than distribution. By creating opportunities for artists to meet, record, collaborate and develop their sound, 44grind aims to become a home where independent talent can build sustainable careers while maintaining their individual identities.

Bringing Kholi and GREGAN together is a reflection of that philosophy.

They arrive with different stories, different strengths and different audiences, but with a shared ability to move between Afrobeats, Afro Fusion and R&B.

Two Artists. Different Journeys. One Platform.

Born Chukwuemeka Okolie, Kholi Kabelo is a Nigerian Afro Fusion artist known for blending soulful R&B melodies with the energy and rhythms of Afrobeats.

Kholi has already demonstrated his ability to connect with audiences at scale. His interpretation of P Square’s classic “Beautiful Onyinye” generated more than 15 million views and inspired over 700,000 user created videos across digital platforms.

He has built a community of more than 950,000 followers across TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat, alongside more than one million Apple Music streams and a growing audience on Spotify.

His live journey has included appearances at the Big Brother Naija Live Show, One Africa Music Fest in Dubai, Alternate Sound Live and the Warri Again Concert in Lagos.

GREGAN, born Gregory Okoro David, is a Nigerian recording artist from Delta State currently based in Lagos.

Working across Afrobeats, Afro Fusion, R&B and Afropop, GREGAN approaches music as an expression of real life, from love and ambition to emotions, everyday experiences, inspiration and simply enjoying the moment.

His catalogue includes his 2024 EP “Who Is Gregan” and the two song release “Lie 4U / Alive,” which helped introduce his evolving sound and artistic identity.

Beyond music, GREGAN is also passionate about drawing and visual art. His artwork and creative concepts frequently form part of the visual identity surrounding his music, allowing him to build an artistic world that extends beyond recording.

The 44grind Connection

At the centre of this new chapter is 44grind.

Built around the idea of becoming “The Home of Independent Music,” 44grind is developing a model that goes beyond simply delivering music to streaming platforms.

The company’s approach focuses on creating an environment where artists can access distribution, development support, creative collaboration, marketing opportunities, content strategy, analytics and industry partnerships while building careers designed for the modern African music industry.

Kholi Kabelo and GREGAN coming together demonstrates that vision in practice.

Rather than treating artists as individual releases moving through a distribution system, 44grind is creating opportunities for its network of artists and creatives to interact, exchange ideas and create music that might not exist without those connections.

Collaboration as Artist Development

For 44grind, collaboration is an important part of artist development.

The strongest collaborations are not simply about placing two names on the same record. They introduce artists to new creative perspectives, new audiences and new ways of approaching their music.

Kholi brings an established digital community, a soulful vocal identity and experience creating music that resonates strongly across social platforms.

GREGAN brings versatility, storytelling and a multidisciplinary approach that connects music with visual expression.

Together, they create an opportunity to combine those strengths while allowing both artists to retain their individual identities.

The objective is not to make Kholi sound like GREGAN or GREGAN sound like Kholi.

It is to discover what happens when both artists are given the environment to create together.

Building Beyond a Single Song

The relationship between Kholi Kabelo, GREGAN and 44grind is bigger than the idea of a single collaboration.

It represents an approach to artist development where recording sessions, creative camps, content, marketing, data, collaboration and long term career strategy can work together.

As an independent music company operating from Lagos with ambitions across Africa, 44grind believes some of the continent’s next important artists can be developed by creating stronger infrastructure around independent talent.

That means helping artists not only release music, but understand their audiences, strengthen their identities, develop their catalogues, create better content and build meaningful relationships across the industry.

Kholi and GREGAN represent two artists at different points in that journey.

Their coming together under the 44grind ecosystem signals the beginning of what the company hopes will become a wider culture of collaboration among independent African artists.

A New Chapter for Kholi, GREGAN and 44grind

For Kholi Kabelo, this chapter creates an opportunity to build on an already substantial digital audience while exploring new sounds and creative partnerships.

For GREGAN, it creates another platform to expand his catalogue, introduce his artistry to new listeners and continue developing the relationship between his music and visual creativity.

For 44grind, it represents the company’s larger mission coming to life.

Find talent. Create connections. Develop artists. Build audiences. Take African music further.

As Kholi Kabelo and GREGAN enter this new creative chapter, audiences can expect new music, new collaborations and a deeper look into the creative process connecting both artists.

This is not simply two artists meeting for a record.

It is the beginning of a relationship built around creativity, development and shared ambition.

Kholi Kabelo. GREGAN. 44grind.

Two different journeys. One creative connection. A new chapter begins.
